ResearchResearch is an important part of engineers' training in fields which evolve constantly. Most teachers of ISTASE also do research in the scientific laboratories of University Jean Monnet. The students of ISTASE are thus faced with the problems that arise in the fields of research and development and are trained to be innovative, as they can be associated to the projects carried out in these laboratories. Students can also prepare a DEA (postgraduate certificate prior to PhD), which includes courses and a research project. Three different DEA's in the St-Etienne area correspond to the subjects taught at ISTASE :

It is then possible to start a PhD in our laboratories, which provide the students with a first professional experience of research. ISTASE is also authorised to award the DRT (Technological Research Diploma) : vision, Telecommunications, Instrumentation, which leads to the presentation of a technological research report after an 18 months experience in a partner company. |
