2-3-2 Pathology of the adrenal cortex and radioisotopic investigation
4- Dexamethazone suppression test
Dexamethazone administered per os
4 mg / day drom D - 2 at D + 6
retarded uptake in both adrenals
extinction of the intact cortical parenchyma
Results of suppression test .
SCOPE :
To enhance the uptake difference between a possible not suppressed adenoma and the inhibited adrenocortical tissue.
INDICATION :
is systematic for suspicion of :
- CONN syndrome
- hyperandrogeny of adrenal origin
The cessation of dexamethazone allows to visualize again the adrenals two days later.
