1-3-2 METHODS
1-3-2-2 Thyroid Scanning

a) with a rectilinear scanner

- Life-sized projection images.
- Anatomical positioning by the physician is facilited.

b) with a gamma camera

Detection is more efficient, with optimal image resolution.
Two types of collimators are used :
- pinhole collimator: low sensitivity but enlarged images
- parallel collimator: high sensitivity but small-sized images.
