Student welcome desk

The Student Welcome Desk is a one-stop service for international students and research professors, open from the last week in August to the start of November. It is run by Jean Monnet University, the higher education institutions of Saint-Étienne and Saint-Étienne city council.

It welcomes students and can help you with the following :

  • understanding and simplifying the steps you need to take to obtain a residence permit: visa validation procedure, first applications and renewals of your residence permit ;
  • applying for an accommodation grant from the Caisse d’Allocations Familiales ;
  • finding and booking accommodation.

The Student Welcome Desk also offers services relating to student life (associations, access to culture and sport), with for example :

  • registration for the “SaintE Pass” (card given by the city of Saint-Étienne to all students entitling them to discounts on shows and activities offered by the City) ; 
  • information about tourism and leisure activities ;
  • organising activities to promote integration.

Opening times

Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5.30 pm, from the last week of August to the start of November.
