Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology applied to aromatic and medicinal herbs

 

Research

 The BVpam laboratory works on aromatic and perfume plants and is interested by volatile organic compounds emitted by these plants (essential oil, perfume).

 

Research activities aim to better understand the mechanisms of production, secretion and the role of volatile compounds in aromatic and perfume plants. These molecules serve various ecological roles for the plants that produce them (attraction of pollinators, protection against pest or UV, allelopathic interactions,...) and are of interest to the pharmaceutical and perfume industries.
