Label Bienvenue en France

JEAN MONNET UNIVERSITY, WINNER OF THE "BIENVENUE EN FRANCE" LABEL

On Monday, 8 July 2019, Université Jean Monnet Saint-Étienne (UJM) became one of the first 25 higher education institutions to be awarded the "Bienvenue en France" (Welcome to France) label at the Campus France Research and Innovation Meetings held at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in Paris. This award confirms the quality of the initiatives the university has been pursuing as part of its outreach to international audiences, as part of the school's overall dynamic strategy.

UJM honoured for its work in welcoming international students

In the wake of the announcement made on Monday 8 July 2019 by the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Université Jean Monnet is ranked 6th in this initial group of 25 higher education institutions. This label attests to the quality of the school's efforts, over the past few years, in welcoming international students.

The "Bienvenue en France" label is an initiative launched by the French government and overseen by Campus France with the aim of measuring and promoting approaches to hosting international students.

The criteria used to accredit an international student welcoming initiative are :

  • Quality and availability of information,
  • Reception facilities,
  • Programs offered,
  • Housing,
  • Campus life,
  • Quality of post-graduation support

"Bienvenue en France", a label to help enhance the University's international visibility

The "Bienvenue en France" label will help Université Jean Monnet increase its potential to attract students abroad by giving it the means to strengthen the services offered to new international students, to clearly demonstrate a national standard of welcome and support, and to better target international researchers and partners.

In practical terms, this label will allow UJM to promote its potential to host international students to major partners via Campus France's online and digital tools, and also enables it to add the Label's logo to the University's course catalogue.

Finally, the "Bienvenue en France" label will highlight its initiatives to promote professional integration and support for entrepreneurship on the France Alumni website.

International visibility, a major challenge for UJM

Over the past few years, Université Jean Monnet has pursued a proactive international strategy led by the International Department. With 3200 international students and 30 laboratories, it is a leader in both education and research. In order to raise awareness of its international strategy and the quality of the hospitality it offers students, the department applied for the "Bienvenue en France" label in spring 2019.
