Geometry

The term geometry refers to everything that concerns the digital description of the spatial dimensions of entities in a geographic database, whether points, polylines (lines) or polygons. Spatial entities are defined by the coordinates of their outlines in a Cartesian coordinate system. The precision in the localization of these coordinates is virtually endless and depends only on the power of the machine. It is, in practice, limited by the sources of data and by the precision in their collection.
