====== Georeferencing ======

Georeferencing, or the attribution of a geographic reference to an object, is the process of assigning a recognized geographic [[english:glossary:coordinates|coordinate system]] to documents or geographic databases. Several techniques exist which often proceed by correction or readjustment of control points taken from a document already referenced.
