===Quantitative character===

A character (see also [[english:glossary:statisticalvariable|variable]]) is said to be "quantitative when it express quantities, i.e. it is producted through measurement or count (examples: surface, altitude, population, speed, etc.). Its coding is numeric and its arithmetic has a meaning."
