“Geocoding” is a georeferencing technique of automatically finding the geographical location in the form of longitude and latitude of a postal address. It can be done in a timely manner or on mailing lists. The accuracy and completeness of the positioning is strongly linked to the quality of description of the address but also to the quality of the database locating the address on the street.
