A character (or variable) of a statistic is of a ordinal level of measurement when it takes ordered values, and therefore, it is possible to classify them from the smallest to the largest (ordered relationship). We can calculate the median of a nominal character, which is the value of the character separating half of the individuals with a lower value and half of the individuals with a greater value.
