Correlation
The correlation is use in statistics and probability. It is the intensity of the link between one and several variables. The study of this link can be done by looking at the linear correlation coefficient (among others) ; if the value of the coefficient is near -1 there is a negative correlation, and if the value is near 1 there is a positive correlation.
A correlation can pinpoint a link between two variables even if they don't have any causality link.
