Language
Computer languages are today many and varied, they allow users of computers and software to design, implement and operate a computer system.
In geomatics, 5 languages are often used:
- SQL: writing queries to a database
- PYTHON: programming of scripts on software (notably QGIS, FME, Mapinfo)
- JAVAJAVA: object-oriented programming (mobile application in particular)
However, many other computings languages are present in the computer world, and may be used in the geomatics of tomorrow.
Example:
- Microsoft Office has recently launched a cartographic visualization from excel table, we can then think that the VBAwill find a place.
- Also lesser-known languages likeQtScript, which offers widget components, data access, network connections, XML parsing, ect. Today its features are very popular in the Web, we can then think that the geoweb will be very quickly concerned.
- Or the GLSL language that allows an approach to 3D modeling.
