Signature of the DORA declaration

On 9 May 2023, the Jean Monnet University and its Board of Governors signed the DORA (Declaration On Research Assessment), which is part of the institution's 'Open Science' roadmap.

DORA is a manifesto which testifies to the commitment to respect certain criteria in the evaluation of research.
The UJM thus undertakes not to use bibliometric indicators as a substitute for measuring the individual quality of scientific output.

At European level, Science Europe has suggested an evolution of the DORA manifesto, by promulgating an "Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment", around which the CoARA coalition is being structured: it federates funding agencies, research establishments and universities at European level, in order to pool research assessment practices and build a common approach to mastering these issues.

Following the signing of DORA, the UJM is now considering the possibility of joining CoARA in the medium term.
