Advantages and cultural events all year round
The University Jean Monnet offers a wide range of cultural activities with the Culture Booklet (Carnet Culture) wich provides many discounts on concerts, plays, ballets, films and workshops, and above all the Fest’U, a major university summer festival
- The "Carnet Culture" booklet, with a total value of €32 and on sale for €16 - the University covers half of the total cost - consists of 8 coupons which can be used at over 60 cultural establishments partnered with Saint-Étienne Métropole and the Grand Roanne area (bookshops, record shops, theatres, concert venues, cinemas and museums).
- The Fest'U 2023 puts on over 50 shows including concerts, dance, theatre, chorales, circus, martial arts demonstrations and even hypnotism. It offers the chance to discover nearly 500 performers over 4 nights.

Cultural attractions in Saint-Étienne
Saint-Étienne offers many cultural attractions: cinemas, a national drama centre and over eight other theatres, an opera house, a Zénith for shows and concerts, café-concert venues, a contemporary music venue, various museums (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Museum of Art and Industry, Museum of Mining, etc.), the Cité du Design which hosts an international biennial, the Le Corbusier Site (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and music, theatre, dance and circus festivals all year round.
The city of Saint-Étienne also offers 16 to 25-year-olds who are studying or living in Saint-Étienne free admission and discounts on sport, culture and transport via the saintepass.fr website.
At the start of each academic year, in September and October, the metropolis of Saint-Étienne and Jean Monnet University offer cultural and sports events with the aim of helping new arrivals fit in and get to know the city.
