Emmanuel Duguet, Université de Paris Est Créteil, présentera un séminaire intitulé : Measuring the effects of multiple sclerosis in the labour market : an econometric analysis on long panel data.
Résumé / abstract : Multiple sclerosis is a progressive long term disease that hurts mostly women. We study its effects on activity and revenues from the Hygie data set. This large data set allows for following individuals over several decades. In order to isolate the effect of the disease, we use the approach of difference in differences with matching. We follow the effect of the disease up to 10 years after its onset. We find that multiple sclerosis drives workers out of the labour market. It also strongly reduces their revenues in the long run.
