Philippe Urfalino (CESPRA), présentera un séminaire intitulé : Collective choice or collective decision?

Résumé / abstract  :  Philippe Urfalino proposed a sociological theory of collective decision-making in his book Décider ensemble. La fabrique de l’obligation collective (Seuil, 2021). In particular, he proposed a reformulation of the concepts of decision-making, collective decision-making, deliberative body, collective deliberation, and stopping rule. In presenting the main elements of this theory, he will emphasize how it was developed by comparison and differentiation with two other theories: social choice theory and Habermas’s theory of communicative action.
